Profile

Dr. Alisha Byrd-Clark, a native of Salisbury, NC, is the owner of Byrd-Clark & Co., where she serves as a Human Resources and Business Consultant for individuals and organizations. She is also the founder of Gemstones & COMPASS Leadership Academy, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring and tutoring at-risk youth, as well as operating a free food and toiletry pantry to serve those in need across Rowan County.

Her commitment to community service is reflected in her extensive involvement on numerous boards throughout Rowan County. Alisha recently concluded her eighth year on the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education and has made history as the first Black woman to serve as Board Chair. In addition, she is a member of the Novant Health Rowan Foundation Board of Trustees, the One Love Board of Directors, the Rowan County United Way Board of Directors, the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Dorsett Chapel United Church of Christ Board of Trustees.

Beyond her work in education and leadership, Alisha is a self-published author with three books to her name, a dedicated youth advocate, and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Her efforts have earned her recognition with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Service Award and the Key to the City of Salisbury for her philanthropic contributions to the community.

Alisha is also the proud mother of her daughter, Chastity Byrd.
