Bike Share Program

1. I have read and understand the schools pamphlet/resources on bike laws, rules, and regulations available through the Office of Public Safety, student center, library, and in CatLink. I agree to operate the Catawba Bike Share bicycles correctly and safely in full compliance with all such laws, rules, and regulations. I will most of all promise that:
   • I will not ride a bicycle the wrong way down a street;
   • I will obey all traffic laws, signs, lights, and the traffic direction of public officers;
   • I will use hand signals to communicate to the drivers of other vehicles
   • I will not operate a Catawba Bike Share program under the influence of alcohol or any other drugs.
   • I will use the Catawba Bike Share program for only the use of transportation. I will not attempt any activities using my Catawba Bike Share bike for any other activities that may put myself or others at risk of injury or damage to the Catawba Bike Share bicycle.  
2. I am responsible for properly locking the bicycle when not in use or under my immediate control.
3. While a bicycle is in my possession through the Catawba Bike Share Program, I agree that I shall be financially responsible if the bike is lost, stolen, or damaged and I agree to pay Catawba College the reasonable cost (see price listing below) of replacement or repair depending on circumstances determined by the Catawba Bike Share program. I agree to inform the rental program of any pre-existing damages to the bike before my usage of said bicycle. If I fail to inform a Catawba Bike Share official or a checkout associate, I agree to be held liable for damages discovered after my use of a Catawba Bike Share program bicycle.
4. I agree that I will return the bicycle by the deadline provided to me. At times when the bicycles are not in high demand, check out may last for a week. If there is high demand, checkout will be for three days. Bicycles will not be checkout on the weekend. If a bike is not returned and secured properly before that time, I agree to pay Catawba College late fees as set forth below and may be charged the full replacement cost after seven days. 

Fees:

• Late bike fees (not returned within 24 hours of checkout): $10 per day
• Lost bike fee (replacement cost of bike): $350
• Lost lock fee (replacement cost of lock): $50
• Lost helmet fee (replacement cost of helmet): $30
• Damage fee due to misuse of bike: Cost of parts and labor
