Welcome to our Department of Communication Arts and Media, where storytelling is the core of everything we do. Our department offers three exciting programs—Advertising and Branding, Communication Studies, and Television, Film, and Streaming Media—each designed to empower students to craft compelling narratives that resonate and inspire.

In Advertising and Branding, students learn to create impactful campaigns that bring brands to life with authenticity and style. The Communication Studies program equips students to harness the power of storytelling for social impact, developing communication skills that drive meaningful change in society. For those drawn to visual storytelling, our Television, Film, and Streaming Media program provides hands-on training in the art and craft of filmmaking, from documentary to narrative film. Across all our programs, students gain real-world experience and the skills to make an impact, whether in the media industry, public advocacy, or creative production.

Master the Art of Story-Driven Advertising.

The Advertising and Branding undergraduate program equips students with a comprehensive foundation in marketing principles, visual communication, media production, and brand storytelling. Through a blend of core courses in media literacy, public speaking, and media law, students develop essential skills in critical analysis and ethical decision-making within the advertising industry. Specialized coursework in campaign development, design tools, and copywriting enables students to craft compelling brand messages, while elective options allow for deeper exploration in areas such as digital content creation, cultural influences on consumer behavior, and social impact communication.

Graduates of the program will be prepared to pursue dynamic careers in advertising agencies, brand management, public relations, and other strategic communication roles, with the ability to create impactful campaigns that resonate in an evolving digital landscape.

The Communication Studies undergraduate program provides students with a comprehensive foundation in media, communication theory, and persuasive techniques, with a special focus on the societal impact of communication. Core courses develop essential skills in public speaking, media literacy, and visual communication, while advanced classes in communication theory, media law, and ethics help students explore how narratives shape public perception and drive change.  

A standout feature of the program is its emphasis on social impact, where students examine how communication drives social change and engage in projects that address cultural, ethical, environmental, and community issues. With options in media criticism, journalism, and professional communication, students gain hands-on experience in creating impactful content and campaigns. This program not only prepares graduates for careers in media, public relations, and social advocacy but also provides a solid foundation for those interested in pursuing graduate studies in communication or related fields.

The Television, Film, and Streaming Media undergraduate program is crafted for creative visionaries who are driven to tell stories that captivate and inspire. With a powerful emphasis on storytelling, this program immerses students in the world of documentary and narrative filmmaking, guiding them from initial concept to polished production.

From mastering industry-quality cameras and lighting to developing skills in cinematography, sound design, and post-production, students gain hands-on experience with the latest tools and techniques. Courses in media law, content creation, and production ensure that students not only become skilled filmmakers but also savvy communicators.
