In Memoriam: Minnie McCachren

September 10, 1932 – January 5, 2024

Minnie McCachren, R.N., fondly known as “Nurse Minnie”, served Catawba for twenty years, first as student nurse beginning with the 1973-74 school year, then becoming Director of Student Health Services in 1983 and serving in that capacity until her retirement in 1994.

She is survived by her husband, emeritus professor of theatre arts at Catawba, Dr. Hoyt McCachren; four children, one of whom is her daughter Dr. Renee McCachren, professor of music at Catawba; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
