Duck Draw
20th Annual Thanksgiving Duck Draw
Please help us feed families for Thanksgiving!
2023 marks Residence Life's 20th Annual Duck Draw Community Service Project. We have helped feed over 2,000 families to date, and we did that with your help!
How Does it Work?
For the Duck Draw, we place numbered rubber ducks in the fountain at Stanback Plaza. A member of the campus community will randomly select ducks from the plaza. Each duck in the fountain corresponds to a sponsor. We draw as many ducks as there are prizes!
These prizes are donated by local businesses and community members. We are incredibly grateful for those donations each year!
Why Get Involved?
All money donated by sponsoring a duck goes directly to purchasing supplies for Thanksgiving meals for families in our community. We team up with Communities in Schools for this project. Communities in Schools identifies families in the Rowan-Salisbury School System that can use a little help during the holidays.
What Do the Meals Consist of?
These meals typically consist of a 10-12 pound turkey, baking pan, rice, cranberry sauce, green beans, corn, stuffing mix, and a box of brownie mix. Communities in Schools identify families who need a little extra help during the holiday season and distribute those meals to local families.
Thank you for your support in our annual Duck Draw!
