Evan is a Catawba alumnus who joined the College's IT Department as an intern during his time as a student and was offered a full time position as an IT Support Specialist where he now serves. He has now been working in that position for a little over a year and has been supporting faculty, staff and students all across campus. This is in the form of over the phone support, in person trouble shooting and help in device/service implementation. His prior work experience was at a restaurant in his hometown where he was washing dishes, running food to the line cooks and sometimes working the expo line verifying food looks good before heading to the table. In his spare time, he enjoys playing console and mobile games, reading manga and practicing voice lines from games and TV shows.

Hometown: Mocksville, NC

What is your favorite spot on campus? Ketner School of Business - Very comfortable furniture and quiet area to help focus on work. Also just full of amazing faculty.

Favorite thing at Catawba? The people. Between the staff, the faculty and my own coworkers, everyone here has such a positive attitude, a willingness to help others when needed and a dedication to our students that cannot be understated. It truly is a pleasure to come to work here everyday with the people I'm surrounded by.

Fun Fact or Hobby? I am an aspiring Voice Actor! I current practice making audio recordings of my takes on famous quotes or monologues from movies, video games and TV shows.

Best advice for future students? Be yourself. Even if your interests don't exactly line up with others, even if in the past you were judged for being you, Catawba gives you the opportunity to grow and feel accepted by those around you. Your interests, your values, they're what make you unique and Catawba helps you use those to become the best version of yourself. So be unafraid, be unashamed, be proud of who you are. You're a lot stronger that you give yourself credit for. Believe in yourself and your own strength and you will make it far.
