The Green Event Certification is a way to demonstrate that your event meets several different sustainability criteria, with the goal of reducing your event’s environmental footprint as much as possible.
The Green Event Certification is a way to demonstrate that your event meets several different sustainability criteria, with the goal of reducing your event’s environmental footprint as much as possible.
To certify your event as a Green Event, it must meet a minimum of 80% of requirements (16 out of 20) from the Green Event Certification checklist.
It is recommended that you consider and complete this checklist as early as possible in the planning process, and that you submit your checklist at least 2 weeks before your event to allow for adequate review time.
Getting your event certified as a Green Event is a great way to reduce the environmental impact of your activities. The certification requires the consideration of sustainability in numerous areas, including Transportation, Food, Waste, and more. Certified Green Events are a great way to get involved in Catawba’s Sustainability Journey and to include your event attendees in these efforts.
Certified Green Events will receive the Green Event Certification logo, which can be used on promotional materials, and signage and information throughout the event.
