Center for the Environment

Hannah is a Catawba College Alumna, class of 2018, where she received her degree in Music with a concentration in Worship Arts and a minor in Religion. In 2021, she received her certification in Architectural Technology with a specialization in Sustainability from Central Piedmont Community College.

With a strong passion for birds and conservation, Hannah has been a member of the National Audubon Society for 3+ years and serves on the board of the Forsyth Audubon Chapter out of Winston-Salem, NC. Through her Audubon chapter, Hannah has led numerous mindful bird outings, Chimney Swift watches, plirding (picking up trash while birding) excursions, and participated in multiple North Carolina Audubon Advocacy Days in Raleigh, NC to lobby and speak up for birds and their habitats.

Hannah is extremely thankful to be a part of the Catawba College family as a staff member and is excited to continue working on sustainability initiatives across campus. During her time as a staff member, she has already helped build a more robust recycling infrastructure, installed additional water bottle refill stations, and helped reinstate the Environmental Stewards Program. She is excited for the many projects the Center for the Environment team has in store and can’t wait to continue progressing to help Catawba become the leading small environmental college in the southeast.
