Graduation Requirements
- Successfully complete 21 semester hours of honors coursework (up to 6 hours can be HON 4300 or honors section of Capstone course in major)
- Overall 3.5 GPA
- Complete 10 hours of community service for every year enrolled as a member of the CHP (40 hours for most students entering as first-year Honors students)
- Travel overnight with the college – domestically or internationally with course or to an Honors or professional/academic conference
- Present work at an academic conference during junior or senior year
- Compile an Honors Portfolio (5 artifacts from honors coursework, plus thesis as sixth artifact)
- Successfully complete an Honors Portfolio Narrative
- Successfully complete an Honors thesis
- Formal oral presentation and defense of your thesis to college community
- Present thesis at Catawba Research and Creativity Symposium
College Honors Graduate
College Honors Graduate
- Successfully complete 21 semester hours of honors coursework (selected from HON 1200, 2501, 2901, 3501, 3901, or HON special topics courses only; excludes 4300 and 4401)
- Overall 3.5 GPA
- Complete 10 hours of community service for every year enrolled as a member of the CHP (40 hours for most students entering as first-year Honors students)
- Travel overnight with the college – domestically or internationally with honors course
- Present work at off campus Honors or other professional/academic conference during junior or senior year
- Compile an Honors Portfolio (6 artifacts from honors coursework)
- Successfully complete an Honors Portfolio Narrative
- Present work or Portfolio Narrative at Catawba Research and Creativity Symposium
