Jennifer Barbee joined Catawba College in January of 2021, initially serving as an adjunct instructor for the Education Department by supporting beginning teachers in their pursuit of licensure. With more than two decades of experience in education, she’s been a classroom teacher at each academic level, an instructional coach, and a technology facilitator. Mrs. Barbee’s collegiate journey began with a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2002, followed by a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in STEM from Catawba College in 2018.

Passionate about fostering authentic student engagement, Mrs. Barbee is committed to helping aspiring practitioners learn and practice effective strategies for both teaching and learning. Now a full-time faculty member, she leads courses in Instructional Design and Methods of Instruction while acting as a field supervisor for student teachers. Mrs. Barbee is regarded for her enthusiasm, nurturing the development of creative leaders for today’s classrooms and the broader community through instructional design.
