Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) in her 5th year of working at Catawba. She holds a B.A. Communication from Wake Forest University, and a M.S. Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Lauren has worked with families at Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC on issues relating to grief/loss, stress management, anxiety/depression, and body image. Lauren also gained individual and couples counseling experience while working at a church counseling center in Columbia, Missouri, where she focused on couples/relationships and spiritual/existential counseling issues.
Away from at Catawba, Lauren enjoys performing in local community theatres, participating at her church (St. John’s Lutheran), and cheering on the Demon Deacons and Dallas Cowboys. Most of her free time these days is spent as a short-order cook, personal assistant, and chauffeur to her two energetic boys, Jeffrey and Emmett.
