• Use your Catawba ID to check out items from the library, to access the building after 5pm during open hours, or to copy, scan, and print.
• Use your network username and password for off-campus access to the library's online resources.

To request an item that we do not have at the Corriher-Linn-Black library, but that you feel would be beneficial to the campus and local community, please submit the form below. Login with a Catawba College account is required.

• Go to our catalog
• Type in the title of the item you are looking for in quotations and click search.
  • TIP: If you’re not sure of the title, or are looking for a certain subject, click “Advanced Search” to search by keyword, subject, or author. You can also narrow the search by year and/or format (i.e. eBook, Journal, or Article)
• Once you’ve found an item you need in the search results, check the call number (the location and letters/numbers listed below the word “Available.”)
  • A call number is what we use to find an item in the library, so the location and letters/numbers are important to note.
  • If you see a “View full text,” "View eBook," or "View now" button beside of “Available,” the item is available online through one of our databases, instead of a physical item in our library; just click the View button to access it.
  • You may see more than one link to access the material, so try each link until you find the best result for your item.
• Bring the call number and location information to a staff member, and we'll be happy to assist in locating the item.

There are 5 portable chargers available for Catawba patron use by the library Help Desk/Canon device. Anyone is free to use these chargers (without checking them out), but please return them to the charging station when you are done.

Staff members are not responsible for overdue fines and fees, but are responsible for replacing items that are reported/considered lost or damaged.  The replacement item must be in new condition and of equal value to the lost item (ex. hardcover if the lost item was hardcover). Please contact Nadia Price or Constance Grant to replace the item.

For any signs pertaining to campus or community events, the library has provided a large bulletin board at the entrance of the library, called "In the Community." For any signs pertaining to the events in the library, there is a smaller bulletin board just to the left of the vending machine area, called "In the Library." Only signs related to events within the library may be posted on this board.  Please do not post any signs in bathrooms, on walls, or on the front doors of the library.

Located in the Library, the Science and Mathematics Academic Resource Center (SMART) is committed to offering excellent tutorial services in a caring, supportive and encouraging environment while tackling the development of math and science skills. 

The Catawba College library is home to the Catawba College Writing Center, which provides free, one-to-one tutoring to all Catawba students who are working on writing projects. Our undergraduate peer tutors work with writers of all abilities and at every stage of the writing process.
