The award-winning entry from Catawba College Dining highlights its Welcome Back Luau Event. The event featured a menu reflecting a variety of Polynesian cuisines including Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Hawaii and New Zealand where over 600 guests were served.
In addition to the authentic menu with ingredients brought in directly from Hawaii, multiple activations took place to entertain guests including a Polynesian band, Hawaiian Hula and Maori Poi dancing and a Samoan Fire and Knife dancing demonstration.
"We are honored to receive the Bronze in the Catering Event of the Year category at the Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards," said Kevin Plante, Director of Dining of Catawba Dining. "This recognition is a testament to the dedication and creativity of our culinary team and our partners at Catawba College who continuously strive to exceed expectations and create memorable dining experiences for our guests."
As Catawba Dining celebrates this prestigious accolade, it reaffirms its position as a culinary innovation and service excellence leader, further contributing to Catawba College's reputation as a top institution.
