Catawba College’s Dr. Eric Hake Presents at Prestigious 3rd International Financial Forum in France

Catawba College is proud to announce that Dr. Eric Hake, Professor of Economics, Secretary Treasurer of the Association for Evolutionary Economics (AFEE), and Faculty Advisor for the Catawba College Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) within the Ketner School of Business, delivered a Keynote Address at the 3rd International Financial Forum: “Rising Challenges in Economic, Financial, and Business Development” in France. Dr. Hake’s speech focused on “Institutions and the Evolution of Society” and was presented on September 5th, the second day of the three-day conference.

This prestigious event was hosted by the Center of Research in Economics of Grenoble (CREG-UGA) and the Institute of Economics and Finance (UMCS), at Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), Saint Martin-d’Hères Campus, from September 4 to 6, 2024.

The forum brought together leading scholars, financial experts, and policymakers from around the globe to discuss the most pressing challenges in economic, financial, and business development. In addition to contributing his insights on economic transformation, sustainable financial practices, and the impact of evolving financial markets on global development, Dr. Hake also served on the Scientific Committee for the conference.

With both onsite and online participation, the forum served as a dynamic platform for exchanging innovative ideas and fostering international collaboration. Dr. Hake’s participation underscores Catawba College’s commitment to engaging with global economic issues and preparing future business leaders through hands-on experiences like the Student Managed Investment Fund.
