Inductees include Vaishnavi Venkatesh, Hunter Clark, Juan Nicoletti, and Sebastian Castrillon. The fifth member, Lincoln Anderson is a Catawba College alumnus.
Omicron Delta Epsilon, founded in 1963 through the merger of Omicron Delta Gamma and Omicron Chi Epsilon, recognizes scholastic excellence and promotes scholarship in the field of economics worldwide.
The North Carolina Psi chapter has already made a meaningful impact. During the Spring 2025 semester, chapter members partnered with the Salisbury-Rowan Farmers Market, successfully recruiting one student to support marketing efforts and two students to develop and deliver the “Pop Market” series—an educational initiative introducing children to basic nutrition concepts and money management skills through interactive activities in the children’s market.
“This group has embraced the honor society’s mission of applying economic knowledge to real-world community issues,” said Dr. Jamie Slate, Associate Professor of Economics in Catawba’s Ralph W. Ketner School of Business. “They’re not only strong students but also engaged community members making a difference.”
Looking ahead, the chapter’s current Vice President will assume the role of President for the 2025–2026 academic year, with plans underway for additional inductions in the fall semester. To support future programming, the chapter is organizing a fundraiser involving the sale of custom towels to current students. Proceeds will fund an invited speaker event in the upcoming academic year, aimed at deepening students’ understanding of real-world economic issues.
