To kick off meeting, guest speaker Nick Means ‘03, Vice President of Community Banking at F&M Bank, delivered an inspiring message on teamwork, trust, and shared purpose—setting the tone for the afternoon’s activities. In attendance were KSOB faculty and staff members: AD Annas, Kathy Baker, Angelia Bates, Rick Blume, Imran Chowdhury, Ariel Cintrón-Arias, Gerard De Leoz, Eric Hake, Steve Hiatt, Jason Hunt, Sarah Jackson, Christine Lynn, Scott Morton, Jeremiah Nelson, Ross Roberts, Pam Thompson, Joanna Trammell, Jennifer Yurchisin, and John Zerger.
The highlight of the day was a bicycle-building challenge, in which faculty were divided into four teams. Each group worked together to assemble a bike, fostering problem-solving skills and team camaraderie. At the close of the session, the newly built bicycles were donated to The Pedal Factory, a Salisbury-based nonprofit dedicated to making bicycles accessible and affordable to the community. Bill Feather, Pedal Factory Board Member and former Mayor of Granite Quarry, was on hand to offer encouraging words to the bike-building teams as well as a helping hand when needed.
“This event was the perfect way to build community both within the Ketner School of Business as well as with our neighbors here in Salisbury,” said Dean Imran Chowdhury. “Not only did we strengthen our teamwork, but we also contributed to a cause that benefits children and families in our area.”
