The 30-minute film premiered its final cut last fall at the renowned Bryant Park Hotel Screening Room in Manhattan. The Wrong Road is the result of a unique creative collaboration that began during Annas’ previous tenure at SUNY Buffalo State, prior to joining the faculty at Catawba.
Directed by BAFTA Award winner Metin Hüseyin (Outlander), the film boasts a compelling cast of seasoned actors including Kathryn Erbe (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Lee Tergesen (Oz), and Mark Ryder (Borgia). Annas joined Fontana and other key contributors at the screening to celebrate the culmination of the production.
“I’m proud that the film reached its final cut while I’m now part of the Catawba community,” said Annas. “This kind of industry collaboration reflects the real-world storytelling we inspire our students to pursue.”
As an educator, Annas continues to bridge professional experience and classroom instruction, mentoring students in media production, film, and documentary storytelling at Catawba College.
