New students to Catawba College with an SAT score of 1300 or more are eligible for scholarships totaling $40,000 over four years. These scholarships, to be awarded in increments of $10,000 over a four-year period, are made possible by an anonymous donor who designated a $1 million gift for this purpose.
Cindy Barr, Vice President of Enrollment, said the new scholarships are a way to help raise the academic profile of an incoming class. "Our goal is always to enroll academically prepared students who will thrive and be challenged in their undergraduate careers,” Barr said. “These scholarships recognize the intellectual ability of incoming students and can help bring the cost of a private college education into the reach of academically capable students and their families.”
Prospective students who meet the SAT score requirement of 1300 or more should begin the process by submitting a free application for admission online at www.catawba.edu/apply.
