
Catawba College alumnus Larry Land ’74 of North Chesterfield, Va., was presented with the Career Achievement of Excellence Award by the Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE) on December 7, 2018. The award is presented annually “to an individual outside of or retired from the field of association management who, through hard work, pleasing personality, and dedication has provided exceptional service to their association community over the years.”
Land received the award in recognition of his 29 years of working as a lobbyist representing county governments as an employee of the Virginia Association of Counties. He retired on September 30, 2017 as Director of Policy Development.
The VSAE newsletter article concerning the award noted of Land: “He never missed a single opportunity to volunteer his time for any charity or cause that VSAE was supporting. His selfless attitude and giving nature make him the perfect candidate for this award.”
