Catawba College's production of"A Tuna Christmas" brings an abundance of humor to the holiday. The play, by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard, runs Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 at 10 p.m. (after hours showing follows Catawba's"Service of Lessons and Carols") and Nov. 30 and Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Florence Busby Corriher Theatre on campus.
“A Tuna Christmas" is the second play in a trilogy of satires about the fictional town of Tuna, Texas. It is sometimes light and frivolous, sometimes dark and unsettling, but always laugh-out-loud funny as 22 memorable characters cross the stage.
“A Tuna Christmas" is directed by Dr. Kurt Corriher who is joined by Professors David Pulliam, Set Designer; Erin B. Dougherty, Costume Designer; and Christopher D. Zink, Lighting and Sound Designer; and senior Meredith Avery of Johnston, Assistant Set Designer.
The cast of"A Tuna Christmas" includes juniors Sara Coon of Dallas, Texas; Jamie Caputo of Greensboro; Bristol Glass and Sean Henderson of Concord; Katie Higgins of Durham; and Rayshaun Sandlin of Knightdale. They are joined by senior Kat Campagna of Branford, Conn. , and sophomore Jordan Clifton of Wake.
Additional technical support is provided by juniors Katie Hopkins of Albemarle, Stage Manager; and Ashley Jackson of University Place, Wash. , Assistant Stage Manager; senior Jered Shults of Sevierville, Tenn. , Master Carpenter; junior Greg Stoughton of Niceville, Fla. , Master Electrician; sophomore TyNia Brandon of Charlotte, First Hand; senior Quinn McRae of Hendersonville, Props Master; and junior John Millbank of Carrboro, Scenic Charge Artist.
