;While a student at Catawba, Shane Aldridge '10 of China Grove, N.C., double majored in Religion and Philosophy and Political Science with an emphasis in the American Political Experience. An internship at the Rowan County Register of Deeds Office in Salisbury led to Shane landing a part-time position there after his May graduation. A scant two months after his graduation, his part-time position became fulltime as he was named Deputy Register of Deeds. Although pursuing a master's degree in Public Administration is in his future plans, Shane is currently enjoying his job and all it entails.
Shane came to Catawba after attending a private Christian school and lived on campus only for his first semester. Thereafter, he commuted from his home in China Grove to the campus in Salisbury. Despite being a commuting student, Shane was very much at home and engaged on campus and developed some lasting relationships with his professors and peers.
He sat down to talk about his Catawba experience and shared his thoughts on everything from being undecided as a student to the importance of internships and a liberal arts education to his ideas on what constitutes success.
