Attention Football Fans! The 2008 edition of the Catawba Indians will be unveiled during Blue-White weekend April 4th and 5th with Ladies Night and an always entertaining spring football game.
The weekend kicks off with Ladies Night on Friday, April 4th starting at 7pm in the Michael Team Room located in the Hayes Field House. Our own Catawba Chiefs Club President Tippie "Move over Martha Stewart" Miller will share ideas she has learned in classes she has taken from various nationally renowned chefs such as Chef Jacques Pepin. She will show you tricks for turning simple foods into designer foods, tips on eye-popping ways to present food creations and, the best part, you will be able to sample what has been prepared plus wine and cheese for everyone.
The second half of Ladies Night will feature Head Football Coach Chip Hester and a panel of 6-8 members of the team there to answer your questions and to talk about the season ahead. This is a great opportunity to meet some of our players and get to know more about them. Ladies Night is just $5 and its payable that night at the door. To reserve your spot, please call Gordon Kirkland at Catawba at (704) 637-4394, ext.3178 or e-mail gakirkla@catawba.edu by April 1st.
Saturday, April 5th will begin with a fabulous BBQ lunch at noon catered by Bodacious Bud’s in Kirkland Lobby of Goodman Gymnasium. Coach Hester will talk about the 2008 season and introduce some of our new recruits for next year that will be on hand. Cost for the lunch is $10 payable at the door and, once again, you should call Gordon Kirkland at (704) 637-4394, ext.3178 or e-mail gakirkla@catawba.edu by April 1st to reserve your spot for lunch.
At 1:30 in Shuford Stadium, the annual Blue-White game will begin. Our squad will be looking to continue our winning ways in 2008 and this will afford you the chance to see our veteran players as well as some talented redshirts in action as they gear up for next fall. This is a weekend you will not want to miss, so make your plans to be here now!
