Dick Laimbeer, a veteran of the automotive aftermarket and transportation industries for more than 40 years, has joined Ducker, Findlay, Swoboda & Associates, LLC (DFS&A), as a partner of the automotive aftermarket consulting and market intelligence firm.

Laimbeer started his career with Chilton Company in 1967. During his 27 years with Chilton, he held a variety of positions which included project manager for Chilton Research Services; advertising sales representative for Motor Age and Automotive Marketing magazines, publisher of Commercial Carrier Journal; and general manager of Datalog, a division of the Chilton Book Company.

He joined The Hearst Corporation in 1994 as Publisher of Motor Manuals, and he has been involved in several automotive industry associations, such as president of Automotive Booster Clubs International, an association of aftermarket sales representatives; a former member of the ASIA Board of Directors; past president of the Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI); and a member of the ETI Board of Directors.

He also served as secretary/treasurer of MAP (the Motorist Assurance Program) and is a member of the MAP Board of Directors. He is a 1981 recipient of the Northwood Institute Automotive Aftermarket Management Education Award. Laimbeer is a graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. He resides in West Bloomfield, Mich.
