Two Catawba College alumni from the class of 2005, Jennifer Reiff and Jason Rigney, will be performing with their band, Labeling Deloris, Saturday, October 14, at Salisbury’s new music venue, 315.   Along with Reiff and Rigney, Jason’s brother, Brad, fills the bass spot and Andrew Boudouris, also a former Catawba student, handles percussion.

 Labeling Deloris is a female fronted rock act that was created by Jason and Jennifer while they were students at the Salisbury’s liberal arts college.   The band has recently moved to Nashville to pursue life in the music business.   With only a few months under their belt in the Music City, Labeling Deloris has managed to break into the scene quickly, gathering up such quotes as “John Mayer with power,” “Jennifer having the most control and power of any singer in Nashville,” and “the tightest rhythm section in today’s market.”

The band has been booked over 80 times since their June arrival in Nashville and continues to play at least four times a week. They were named as Nashville’s band to look for and recently appeared on X Radio in August, performing two of their songs, “Boats and Swords” and “Back to Reality.”   Also in their short time in the Music City, they have managed to record at Nashville’s legendary SAE Studio and at Middle Tennessee State University. Labeling Deloris has also been approached by a number of record labels, with one executive saying, “I have two favorite bands, Labeling Deloris acoustic and Labeling Deloris full band electric.”

As they continue to strive to become “signed,” they have not forgotten where they originated.   Reiff, Rigney, and Boudouris were all music majors at Catawba College and were thrilled with the opportunity to come back and perform in Salisbury during Catawba’s biggest weekend, Homecoming weekend slated October 14-16.

The October 14th show at 315 begins at 10:30 p.m. with Justin Dionne and a special performance by Catawba College’s own, Vernacular Ensemble.
