Catawba College's Department of Teacher Education held its year-end celebration on Tuesday, April 17.
Jacob Crews, East Bend, NC, was recognized as a graduating West Scholar and received a crystal apple.
Catawba College's Theta Phi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education inducted 14 new members and installed new officers for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Leah Huggins, Hope Mills, NC; Laura Isenhour, Salisbury, NC; Connor Johnson, Rockwell, NC; Caylin Smith, Concord, NC; Chad Springer, Salisbury, NC; and Katie Zobel, Chapin, SC. Jenna Bernard (M.Ed.), Cornelius, NC and Angela Peterson (M.Ed.), Salisbury, NC, were inducted as graduate students.
New officers installed were Brittany Hager, president, and Hunter Benfield, treasurer.
Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education, was founded March 8, 1911, at the University of Illinois. Catawba College's Theta Phi Chapter was installed on February 28, 1958. Organized to recognize excellence in education, Kappa Delta Pi members honor achievement; strive to a high degree of professional fellowship, leadership, and growth in the field of education; and serve their students and educational community.
