Catawba College has elected four new members of its Board of Trustees, according to an announcement by Bill Graham of Salisbury, Board Chair.
They are Lee Syria of Newton, NC, Bart Edge '81 of Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, and Ocean Isle Beach, NC; Pamela Huffman Falls '95 of Herndon, VA, and Raymond Daniels '91 of Lexington, KY.
The Board of Trustees is composed of both Catawba College alumni and non-alumni members who represent a variety of professional and personal backgrounds, bring diverse viewpoints, and come from a range of geographic regions. Currently, trustees are involved in a Presidential search and the MIND BODY SOUL Campaign for Growth, a $38.2 million effort to raise money for specific college needs.
Lee Syria
Syria is President and CEO of United Church Homes and Services, a Christian ministry founded through the United Church of Christ, with an office in Newton. UCHS is a recognized as an industry leader among not-for-profit senior living communities with 11 locations serving more than 2,000 older adults in North Carolina and Virginia. Syria is a 1997 graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Health Care Management and a 2003 graduate of Gardner-Webb University with a Master of Business Administration degree.
Bart Edge
Edge is a 1981 graduate of Catawba College with a degree in
Business Administration. He also earned a Master of Business Administration in 1990 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a senior executive with more than 38 years leadership experience. Today, he serves as President of IronPoint Financial, a corporate payments processing company.
Pamela Huffman Falls
Falls is a 1995 graduate of Catawba College with a degree in
Biology. She is Senior Director of Business Development & Strategy for Northrop Grumman Corporation. She also is active at Catawba through her role as President of the Alumni Board of Directors.
Raymond Daniels
Daniels is a 1991 graduate of Catawba College with a degree in
Business Administration. While at Catawba, Daniels played football with current football coach Curtis Walker. Daniels is the CEO of Lexidan Foods, which owns and operates 15 Waffle House Restaurants in the Lexington, KY, community. Additionally, he is active in his service as an elected member of the local school board.
