Some members of the Catawba College faculty have recently been notified that they will receive summer block stipends in varying amounts to pursue scholarly and academic study projects. The awards were made by the Vice President and Dean of the College Dr. Barbara Hetrick, at the recommendation of the faculty welfare and enrichment committee.

Those receiving such stipends include Dr. Sheila Brownlow and Dr. Lyn Boulter, professors of psychology; Dr. Elizabeth Homan, Missy Barnes, and Dr. Wood Hood, professors of theatre arts; Dr. James Stringfield, professor of teacher education; Dr. Andrew Morris, professor of marketing; Dr. Paul Baker, professor of mathematics; Dr. Aaron Butler, professor of English; Dr. Joe Poston, professor of biology; Dr. Janice Fuller, professor of English and Catawba’s writer-in- residence; and Dr. Seth Holtzman, professor of religion and philosophy.
