Marcia Miller joined the Catawba College community as director of career services on August 1. 

She had been employed as assistant director of the career development center at Northern Kentucky University since 1995.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and her M.P.A. degree from Northern Kentucky University.  She recently completed coursework for a Ph.D. in educational administration at Indiana State University and is in the process of completing her dissertation on the impact, effectiveness, and retention potential of a career planning component within an orientation course. 

Dr. Barbara Hetrick, Catawba’s vice president and dean of the college, lauded Miller’s “rapport with students, her fundamental understanding of student development, and her breadth of experience in all areas of career services.” 

Miller and her husband, Kent, will make their home in Salisbury and are parents of a daughter.
