The Ralph W. Ketner School of Business will hold its inaugural Distinguished CEO Lecture Series, featuring Bob Ingram, Vice President Pharmaceuticals at GlaxoSmithKline, on Tuesday, April 1 at 4 p.m. in Peeler Crystal Lounge in the Robertson College-Community Center on the Catawba College campus. Musical entertainment will begin at 3:45 and a reception will follow at 5 p.m.
Ingram is an internationally known leader in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as in other aspects of health care. He was asked by former U. S. President George H. W. Bush to organize and chair the CEO Roundtable on Cancer and he also currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Cancer Society Foundation. He was appointed by President George W. Bush to the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Advisory Board. Ingram serves on a number of corporate boards of directors, including Lowe's Companies, Wachovia Corporation, Edwards Lifesciences Corporation, and Allergan, Inc. He also serves as the Chairman of the GlaxoSmithKline Foundation.
Among the positions he has held in the pharmaceutical industry include Chief Executive Officer of Glaxo Wellcome with responsibility for worldwide business operations and Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman of Glaxo.
He is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.
Catawba President Robert Knott will give the welcome at the lecture series and Professor Pam Thompson, the chair of the Ketner School of Business, will state the purpose of the series. Ingram will be introduced by Catawba alumnus and former Glaxo executive Jeff Landreth and Phil Kirk, Vice President for External Relations at Catawba and the organizer of the lecture series, will give closing remarks.

While on campus, Ingram will tour the Center for the Environment, teach several business classes, meet with the Teaching Scholars, and tour the campus.
