Faculty, staff, administrators and coaches at Catawba College are preparing to crank up a new academic year and some students have already moved into their residence halls on campus.

The earliest arrivals on campus are trainers and athletes, including football, volleyball and men's and women's soccer team members.  They will be followed by the mid-August arrival of the Alphas, upper class students who assist new first-year students during the orientation process.

Some first-year students who participate in a retreat sponsored by Catawba’s Lilly Center will move into their residence halls early, while the bulk of first-year students will move in on Saturday, August 18.

Various faculty meetings will be held the week of August 14, followed by an orientation session for first-year students August 18-22.  Classes for traditional students enrolled in the day program begin Thursday, August 23.

Registration for students who plan to enroll in Block 1 of Catawba’s evening program (School of Evening and Graduate Studies) is slated August 8, with Block 1 classes in that program beginning August 9.
