Dr. Bethany Sinnott, professor and chair of English at Catawba College, recently participated in severalEvents associated with the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival in High Point.
On Sept. 17 and 18, Sinnott was the featured lecturer for the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival’s Elizabeth’s Bard Weekend. The theme of the weekend was “Women in Shakespeare and Sinnott spoke on “Shakespeare’s Dramatic Wives.” This was her second year of participation. Other lecturers were Shakespeare scholars from Davidson College, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Charlotte, and Warren Wilson College.
On September 24, Sinnott conducted one of the Nancy Lyles “Classics in Context” seminars on “Julius Caesar” for the N.C. Shakespeare Festival. This is her third year of participation in this endowed seminar series. She joined other seminar leaders from UNC-Chapel Hill, High Point University, and Warren Wilson College.
