SALISBURY, N.C. - J. Michael Bitzer, assistant professor of political science at Catawba College, recently presented a paper at the Southern Political Science Association’s annual conference in New Orleans, La.
The paper, “A Three-Ring Circus? Presidential Campaigns, Interest Groups, and the Media in Classroom Simulation of the 2000 Election,” was presented to a panel on teaching at the conference. While there, Bitzer also served as chair and discussant of a panel on “The Politics of Lines: Redistricting in the South."
Bitzer, an expert in Southern politics, campaign and election voting behavior, joined the Catawba College faculty in 2002.
