Dr. James Slate, associate professor of economics at Catawba College, presented a paper entitled "Toward Economic Geography in the Economic Principles Course" at the 18th annual International Conference on College Teaching and Learning in Ponte Vedra, Fla., on April 5th.
The paper presented an argument to add more economic geography material to economic principles textbooks.
Slate, who joined the Catawba College faculty in January of 2002, earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va., and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
