Two Catawba College professors were among the participants at the 33rd annual meeting of the N.C. Political Science Association held March 26 and 27 at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee.

J. Michael Bitzer, an assistant professor of political science, served on a panel discussing Contemporary Southern Politics and contributed comments concerning “Reviewing Redistricting: Where Things Stand in the South.” He also was a participant in a roundtable discussion entitled, “Election 2004: What Can We Expect?”

Dr. Sanford Silverburg, professor and chair of the political science department at Catawba, was a participant in two roundtable discussions at the meeting entitled, “The War on Iraq: Quagmire or Opportunity?” and “The Challenge of Winning the Peace in Iraq.”
