“Sex Education,” a poetry book by Catawba College Writer-in-Residence Dr. Janice Fuller, had been selected as runner-up for this year’s Oscar Arnold Young Award. That award is given annually by the Poetry Council of North Carolina to the outstanding book of poetry published during the year by a North Carolina poet.
Fuller received the award and was invited to read from the book at the Poetry Council’s annual meeting held Sept. 24. Other past winners and runners-up for the Oscar Arnold Young Award include Poet Laureate Kay Stripling Byer and former Poet Laureate Fred Chappell.
“Sex Education” was published by Iris Press of Tennessee.
