The Catawba College School of Education, specifically, the Curriculum Materials Center at the college, will host the Fall/Winter 2010 North Carolina Curriculum Materials Center Directors Association Meeting on campus on December 17.

The Association consists of librarians from a variety of public and private institutions across the state and meets twice annually to discuss issues related and pertaining to maintaining and managing curriculum materials center collections and technology as well as advocating for teacher education curriculum materials centers on a statewide level.

After the meeting, association members will tour Catawba's Teacher Education facilities, including the Curriculum Materials Center and computer lab, and will examine classroom technologies, including Promethean boards, iPod touches, iPad, digital cameras and a variety of education specific resources, materials, texts and software. The tour will continue with access to the Corriher-Linn-Black Library and instructional lab.

Amanda Bosch, director of Catawba's Curriculum Materials Center, has served as past-president and vice-president of the association. The current NCCMC Directors Association President is Anne Akers from N.C. State University.
