By participating in the session, Catawba seniors will learn from College alumni and friends about transitioning from college to life after; what to expect when managing personal finances; and living in community. Other topics to be covered in the series include the correct way to network, mingling, appropriate reception topics, and basic dining etiquette rules.
Members of the Catawba College Alumni Association Board of Directors are active participants in the series, said Margaret Faust, Catawba College Director of Alumni and Parent Relations. "This is a great networking opportunity for our seniors. They have an opportunity to make contact with some of our most active alumni and this contact may benefit them professionally after they graduate."
The first three sessions of the series will be held on consecutive Thursdays beginning at 7 p.m. February 2. Topics, facilitators, and meeting location for each of these session include:

- Thursday, Feb. 2: "From Backpack to Briefcase!" with Tim Harris '87 alumnus employed by Philip Morris USA, Inc. in Richmond, Va. – Hurley Room, Cannon Student Center; ;
- Thursday, Feb. 9: "Personal Finance!" with Catawba Professor Emeritus Al Carter of Salisbury – Hurley Room, Cannon Student Center; ;
- Thursday, Feb.16: "Living in Community" with Dianne Scott, Director of Rowan Helping Ministries – Community Room, Cannon Student Center.
The final multi-part finale is slated for Friday, February 24 beginning at 5 p.m. in Tom Smith Auditorium of the Ketner Building with a networking opportunity with Catawba's Alumni Association Board of Directors. At 6 p.m., alumni and seniors move to the Hurley Room of Cannon Student Center for a "mocktail" party, where they will explore the art of mingling. The evening concludes with a 7 p.m. meal in the Community Room of the Cannon Student Center.
