Members of Catawba College's Alpha Chi National Honor Society recently travelled to Portland, Oregon to present their research at the Alpha Chi national convention.
Marcia-Mariel Erhart of Rodgau, Germany, a double major in mathematics and psychology, presented "Cued Empathy in Men and Women," Hope Woods of Burlington, Conn., a double major psychology and biology, discussed "Implicit Power Motivation and Testosterone: Don't Take it Personally, Man," and Emily Hoffler of Palmyra, Pa., a therapeutic recreation major, talked about "Aesthetic Alchemy."
In addition to the three student presenters, Dr. Sharon Sullivan, Alpha Chi advisor and professor and chair of Catawba's mathematics and computer science department, attended the convention where she judged computer science presentations.
Marcia-Mariel Erhart also won a highly competitive regional scholarship for her senior year at Catawba.
