The Catawba College Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams will host a tennis clinic on Sunday, April 17 at the College’s Johnson Tennis Complex to benefit the Michael Yang Foundation. This foundation, established by Dr. Steve Yang and wife Lori after the death of their two-year-old son, works to help parents deal with the loss of a child.
Children ages 5-9 are scheduled from 2:00-3:00 p.m., while children ages 10-14 are scheduled from 3:00-4:00. Adults are scheduled from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and will be able to participate in a round robin doubles tournament from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Members of the Catawba men’s and women’s tennis teams will serve as the instructors for the clinics which are sponsored by Busby and Webb Orthodontics of Salisbury.
The tennis clinics will consist of drills, instruction, games, and match play. Each person that takes part in the clinics will receive a Catawba Tennis t-shirt. The cost of the clinics will be $5 for children and $10 for the adults, with donations also encouraged and accepted. The Catawba College Tennis Teams hope to raise at least $500 for the aforementioned foundation through the clinics.
