During the weekend of Nov. 17-18, 2007 at the North Carolina Theatre Conference in Fayetteville, Catawba College Theatre Arts student Nicole Durant, a junior from Fairview, N.C., was awarded The William Rackley Undergraduate Scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of potential for success in the field as determined by the NCTC Undergraduate Scholarship Committee. According to Catawba Theatre Arts Professor Beth Homan, Nicole not only prepared a strong application including three letters of support, a written essay, transcript, and theatrical resume, but she also gave an exceptional interview with the Scholarship Committee.
