Dr. Janice Fuller, Catawba College's Writer-in-Residence, has been invited to read her poetry at the Troubador Club in London on December 4.
She will be one of the featured readers at the launch of the latest issue of Magma, London's leading poetry magazine. Her poem "Séance: On the Road to Stradone" is one of the poems included in the magazine. This issue of Magma also includes new poems by Seamus Heaney and former U.S. poet laureate Billy Collins. Only 60 poems were selected for publication from among the 2400 submitted for the issue.
Founded in 1954 as a writers' and artists' café, the Troubador Club has hosted acts as varied as Jimi Hendrix, Paul Simon, Joan Baez, Eric Clapton, the Stones, and Bob Dylan. Its poetry readings have made the coffee house a magnet over the past 50 years for London's writers, including Stanley Kubrick (who worked on his scripts at his favorite table during the 1960s).
