Dr. Barbara Hetrick, Catawba College Vice President and Academic Dean, was recognized at the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AACU) annual meeting as a founder and continuing contributor to the Associated New American Colleges (ANAC) on the occasion of the ANAC's 10th anniversary. The tribute was made during the AACU's annual meeting held earlier this month in Washington, D.C.; ;The ANAC is a national consortium of selective small to mid-sized independent colleges and universities dedicated to the purposeful integration of liberal education, professional studies, and civic engagement.; ;Dr. Hetrick also served as a facilitator at the Institute of New Chief Academic Officers sponsored by the American Council of Education held February 11-12 in Los Angeles, Calif.; ;Dr. Hetrick joined Catawba in July, 2003, after spending six years at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, serving as its Vice President for Academic Affairs and as a Professor of Sociology and Anthropology.
