The Tuesday Music 515 Concert Series resumes for the spring semester at Catawba College on at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2005 in the College’s Omwake-Dearborn Chapel. This free performance will feature Adam Ward, organist, in a program of music by Johann Sebastian Bach, including his famous “Toccata and Fugue in D minor,” the “Gigue Fugue in G major,” and “The Prelude and Fugue in E minor.”
Mr. Ward is active as an organ recitalist in the area, and serves as Director of Music Ministries and Organist at First United Methodist Church of Salisbury. He is also presently engaged in doctoral studies in organ at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
The Tuesday Music 515 Series is sponsored by the Catawba College Department of Music. It features brief (30-minute) programs by College and area artists that are free and open to the public. Mark your calendar now for this performance and for the other two performances in the series this spring.
On Tuesday, March 15th, the Classic Arts Duo will present a program of mellow violin and classic guitar, featuring violinist Greg Pannell and classical guitarist Joseph Gminder. On Tuesday, April 12th, the Catawba Brass will present a program of favorites for brass ensembles. The Catawba Brass is composed of Greg Hall and Mickey Driver, trumpets; John Olsen, horn; Steve Etters, trombone; and Brad Gulley, tuba.
The public is invited to attend the free performances in this series.
