Catawba College Athletic Director, Dennis Davidson today announced the football schedule for the 2007 Catawba Indians. "We have a challenging, attractive schedule for next fall including six at home, with the first four under the lights at Shuford Stadium" Davidson said in announcing the schedule.

The campaign opens with two games on the road with new opponents, Chowan College on August 25 and Elizabeth City State, a Division II playoff team in 2006, on September 1st.

The Catawba Indians then come home for four consecutive home games with cross-town rival Livingstone College on September 8 (a reunion of all ex-Catawba Football players will be held that weekend), Fayetteville State visits September 15 and then, after an open date on September 22, SAC Conference play heats up with Mars Hill here September 29 and Newberry, last year's champs, here October 6. Each of these four games will feature 7pm kick-offs.

The next two weeks involve trips across the mountains to face Carson- Newman October 13 and Tusculum College October 20.

Homecoming will feature a new rivalry, the Wingate Bulldogs, here on Saturday, October 27 at 1:30pm in what should be a hotly contested affair.

The Tribe will travel to a new site, Brevard, North Carolina, nestled in the beautiful North Carolina mountains to play Brevard College on November 3.

The regular season concludes with traditional rival, Lenoir Rhyne, here for another 1:30 start.

Catawba Head Football Coach Chip Hester, in looking over the schedule, commented "we're excited about the group we have returning next fall and we're hard at work to do all we can to be ready for this exciting, challenging schedule we have ahead of us in 2007."
