The North Carolina Association of Curriculum Materials Center Directors held their winter conference in the Goodman School of Education and the Lou Wilson Kasias Curriculum Materials Center on Catawba’s campus on Friday, December 11, 2015.

A variety of professional presentations and dialogue were covered for librarians and teaching resource center directors from both private and public institutions of higher education throughout the state.

Curriculum Materials Centers are specialized centers or libraries developed with the purpose of supporting teacher education programs within colleges and universities in preparing educators for P-12 schools. The CMC plays a unique role in empowering learners with information literacy skills, providing an open space for creativity and collaboration, and shaping superior future educators. The available resources are hands-on materials, teacher edition textbooks, leveled readers, and much more. These materials are used by educators to develop curricula and lesson plans and may also be used in instructional situations with elementary and secondary students.
