The Catawba College Lacrosse Team, under the direction of Coach Peter Bourque, travels to England and Ireland July 21-30 and will play several games during the trip.
The team departs Charlotte Douglas International Airport on July 21st and will fly into London's Gatwick International Airport. They tour the sights in London on Sunday, July 22nd and then play their first game against the London Area Team on Monday, July 23rd.
Tuesday, July 24th, Catawba's team heads north to Liverpool where it faces its second European competition against the Liverpool Area Team.
Wednesday, July 25th, the team explores Liverpool before traveling through north Wales to the Irish Sea ferry crossing which will take them to the Port of Dublin where the team stays July 26-29. From Dublin, players travel to County Kilkenny and Kilkenny City, a medieval town, for a sightseeing excursion. The Catawba team plays two games in Dublin – one against the Dublin Select Team on July 28th, and on the 29th, the Catawba group goes up against the Irish National Select Team.
The Catawba group departs Dublin International Airport for the United States on Monday, July 30th.
While Catawba's Lacrosse Team is in England and Ireland, one of its defensive players Dan Ryan, a rising junior from Westborough, Mass., who is majoring in music education, will share his impressions and photographs through his blogs which will be posted on both Catawba's main website (www.catawba.edu) and athletic website (www.gocatawbaindians.com).
