Two Catawba College professors represented the institution recently at an international technology and higher education pedagogical conference held in Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 4-6.

Dr. Erin Wood, an assistant professor of psychology, and Dr. Forrest Anderson, an assistant professor of English, submitted proposals for presentations and were approved via a competitive evaluative process to present at The Teaching Professor Technology Conference. This conference was a  "sister" conference to the longstanding The Teaching Professor Conference.

Dr. Wood presented an e-poster entitled "Engaging the Change: From Hardback to No Back" related to the essential steps she took when transitioning from a traditional face-to-face and physical textbook pedagogy to one that includes various methods of student-instructor interaction and multimedia materials.

Dr. Anderson presented an e-poster entitled "Continuing the Classroom Community" that focused on how he uses multiple e-platforms to grow his students' engagement with course content beyond the semester in which they attend his class.

Both faculty members will share their new-found knowledge about what others do at their institutions during a Jan. 31, 2014 faculty colloquium on campus.
