Dr. Silverburg, with co-author Stephanie B. Askew, J.D., Director of Compliance and Contract Management for Wingspan Portfolio Advisors, LLC of Carrollton, Texas, wrote a paper entitled "The Grotian Moment of Post-Intra-State Conflict: Accountability Process as a Normative Foundation of International Law." A draft of this paper was prepared for delivery to "Jus – Post - Bellum": Mapping the Normative Foundation, The Jus – Post - Bellum Project, Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies, The University of Leiden, The Hague, Netherlands, May 31 – June 1, 2012.

Silverburg served as a member of Catawba College’s faculty from 1970 until 2011. He is a specialist in international relations and international law as well as the government and politics of the Middle East. He has published and lectured internationally, speaking to both academic and community groups, and has broad experience with government and military affairs.


Catawba College Professor to Moderate and Make Presentation at Conference
Dr. James Slate, associate professor of economics at Catawba College, will attend the annual meeting of the Academy of Economics and Finance to be held in Charleston, S.C., Feb. 9-11. While there, he will moderate a session on Economic Education and will make a presentation entitled "An Essay on Business Program Assessment and Its Relation to the Economics Program."
