Catawba College will host a two-day seminar addressing campus sexual assault and problem drinking February 16 and 17 in the College’s Center for the Environment.   The event is co-sponsored by The National Center for Higher Education Risk Management and The North Carolina Collaborative Alcohol Management Project for University Success (C.A.M.P.U.S.).

Presenters at the seminar are Brett Sokolow and Alan Berkowitz.   Sokolaw, a higher education attorney and consultant is the author of 10 books and dozens of articles on the campus judicial process, sexual misconduct, and campus security.   He is editor of The Report on Campus Safety and Student Development and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Council on Law in Higher Education.   Berkowitz is an independent consultant who helps colleges, universities, public health agencies and communities design programs that address health and social justice issues.   He is the editor of The Report on Social Norms and the recipient of five national awards for his work in higher education.

Deans of Students, Judicial Affairs Administrators, Residence Hall and Student Affairs Administrators, Campus Law Enforcement Health Services Staff and Counselors at institutions of higher education are encouraged to attend.   Day One topics will address sexual assault, and Day Two topics will concern problem drinking.   Participants may opt to attend either or both days of the seminar.   For registration details, visit www.ncherm.org
