Fairy tales come to life, and things are not always as they seem in The Space Between, a coming-of-age story that deals in nostalgia and collective mythology as it currency.
A fully original work created by Catawba College Theatre Arts students who call themselves EEK (Eclectic Ensemble [K]ompany), The Space Between takes its audience on a journey that is all at once familiar and extraordinary.
Performances will be held in Hedrick Little Theatre Feb. 19-22 at 7:30 p.m. Seating is general admission. Tickets may be purchased online at www.catawba.edu/theatretix, at the door, or by calling the Catawba College Theatre Office, (704) 637-4440, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
This world premiere, ensemble piece follows the story of a young girl as she navigates the transition from childhood to adulthood. Created through a devising process that began as part of a Catawba College Collaboration class last spring, the dedicated cast has developed the production from the ground up, under the guidance of Professor Beth Homan. Cast members include: Nunna Noe, Madison Dolchan, Zach Karvon, Brielle Jobe, Krissey Browder, Dominic Masotti, and Miranda Sibbett.
Also a central part of the process is Stage Manager, Colleen Bollinger; Costume Designer, Professor Erin Dougherty; Scenic Designer, Professor David Pulliam; and Lighting Designer, Professor Christopher Zink.
